⚡ Reflex

How fast you react. About 1 minute.

Tap the moment the box turns red.

About 1 minute. The first 3 tries are practice and don't count.

Why does this happen?

Your eyes see the red, your brain works out what it is, and then it tells your finger to move. Each step takes a few hundredths of a second.

Most adults take about 200–300 milliseconds in total, a bit less than the blink of an eye. Being tired, distracted or on a slow screen adds time. Being alert and warmed up takes time off.

That's why the first 3 tries are practice: almost everyone gets faster once they settle in.

How it's measured

You get 3 practice tries, then 10 that count. The red appears after a random wait, so you can't guess the timing.

Your score is your middle result (the median) of the 10, so one slow or lucky tap doesn't change it much. Tapping before the red counts as "too soon" and that try is repeated.

Phones and some screens add a little delay of their own, so compare yourself on the same device.

Your results and history are saved in this browser. Each finished score is also sent to us anonymously (just the game, the score and whether you used a phone or a computer; no name, no account) so everyone can see how they compare. Just for fun: not a medical, IQ or hiring test.
