Startup Jobs Board

DRAFT — pending legal review

Terms of service.

Last updated 18 September 2026.

1. Who we are and what this is

Startup Jobs Board ("the Service") is operated by [Legal entity name] ("we", "us"). The Service is a public listing of job openings at startups in India, together with a paid advertising product called a featured placement. By using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. Job seekers

Browsing, searching and following apply links is free and requires no account. Apply links lead to third-party websites we do not control. We do not act as an employment agency, do not participate in any hiring decision, and make no representation that any listing is accurate or that any role remains open.

3. Featured placements are an advertising service

A featured placement is a time-limited promoted listing. When you purchase a boost you buy a defined advertising service: display of your listing in the ranked band with prominence determined solely by the published formula (boost amount × 0.5^(days since boost ÷ 7)). The service is delivered when your payment is captured and your boost balance is credited.

Ranking is deterministic. It depends only on amounts paid and elapsed time. There is no element of chance, no auction, no bidding against a hidden reserve, and nothing is "won". The Service is not a game, contest, lottery or online money game within the meaning of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025.

No guaranteed outcome. We do not promise any number of views, clicks, applicants, interviews or hires, nor any specific rank relative to other advertisers, whose own boosts affect ordering.

4. Fees, tax and refunds

The minimum boost is ₹99. Fees are exclusive of applicable tax, which is calculated and collected at checkout by Dodo Payments, our payment processor and merchant of record, which also issues the tax invoice. Featured placement fees are non-refundable once the payment is captured, because the service is delivered immediately; this is disclosed at checkout and in our Refund policy. Failed, duplicate or mismatched payments are refunded to the original payment method.

5. Listing content and your responsibilities

You warrant that you are authorised to advertise the role, that it is a genuine open position, that the salary range stated is accurate, and that the apply link leads to the real application. Listings must comply with our content rules. All submissions are moderated; we may decline, edit for format, hide or remove any listing at any time, including after payment, if it breaches these terms — without refund where the breach is yours.

6. Editorial listings

Listings marked "sourced from the web" are aggregated by us from public sources for job seekers' benefit. They are not paid placements, are ordered by date, and link to the original posting. Rights holders may request removal via the grievance mechanism.

7. Public statistics

View, click and visitor counts are measured by us using server-side, bot-filtered, deduplicated methods described on the stats page. They are provided in good faith as-is and are not audited.

8. Acceptable use

Do not scrape at a rate that degrades the Service, submit fraudulent listings, inflate counters, attempt to circumvent moderation or payment, or use the Service for anything unlawful. Automated access for indexing and answering user queries is permitted, subject to robots.txt.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is". Our total liability to any advertiser for any claim is limited to the fees paid by that advertiser in the 30 days before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the content of third-party sites.

10. Intermediary status

We are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 in respect of third-party content. Our Grievance Officer is [Grievance Officer name] (grievance@example.com); see the grievance page.

11. Changes, governing law, disputes

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [city of registered office] have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection forum.
